I've been on a banana milkshake kick lately!  This combination is one of my favorites, and it tastes like a Frosty from Wendy's!  The sweetness only comes from the bananas, so it's not as hit-you-over-the-head sweet as a real Frosty.  Which might be bad if what you really want is a real Frosty... but is great if what you want is a healthier version that still tastes amazing :)

How could it be anything but delicious?  Frozen banana, almond milk, cocoa powder, almond butter, ice... all blended together into a tasty shake!  I topped it with unsweetened coconut shavings and they got all frozen and crunchy... so goooood!

Though all of the individual ingredients are Whole30-compliant, when you put them together, this definitely crosses over into SWYPO territory... due to the chocolate and the ice-cream consistency and all that.

If you have some bananas lying around getting too ripe on your counter, just toss them in the freezer! Combine with whatever nut butter and milk you like, add cocoa/cacao powder if you want, the variations are endless!

Ingredients:

1 frozen banana

1/2 - 3/4 cup almond milk (or milk or your choosing)

1-2 Tbsp almond butter (or nut butter of your choosing)

1 tsp cacao powder (or cocoa powder)

handful of ice cubes

optional:  coconut flakes

Instructions:

  1. Add banana, 1/2 cup almond milk, almond butter, cacao powder, and ice cubes to your blender.
  2. Pulse until it's all creamy and blended together, pausing to stir or push ingredients down into the blades as needed.  You may need to add a bit more almond milk to get it to blend and to be the consistency you want!
  3. Pour into a glass, top with coconut flakes (optional) and dive in with your spoon!
